Vice President, Electric Operations Major Projects and Programs
Ahmad Ababneh was named Vice President, Electric Operations Major Projects and Programs. in May 2019. In this role, Ababneh oversees the design and construction of PG&E's major electric transmission and distribution projects, as well as asset inspections and maintenance programs. Ababneh also oversees the company’s longer-term grid resiliency initiatives and system-wide vegetation management.
Since joining PG&E in 2014, Ababneh has worked in various electric operations and engineering roles. Most recently, Ababneh served as senior director, Electric Asset Management, where he was responsible for all aspects of the electric asset strategy and investment plans and led the implementation of key Smart Grid and technology programs.
Prior to joining PG&E, Ababneh served in variance engineering, consulting and leadership roles for Fortune 500 companies at Florida Power and Light, Entergy, ENSCO, focused on providing solutions to the defense, transportation, aerospace and intelligence sectors, Schlumberger, and GE.
Ababneh holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, a master of electrical engineering from the University of New Orleans, and a master of business administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Ababneh is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
